$Buck$ Pen Blanks
These blanks are made of shredded U.S. currency and acrylic resin.  Since the main ingredient is paper there WILL be little air bubbles that will become exposed during the turning process.  I strongly recommend that you take the time to view the two instructional videos that Ed Davidson produced showing you how to deal with hiding the brass tube and filling the little holes.  Did I mention that sharp tools are an absolute necessity?

Sold as a pair.  The blanks measure approximately 1" x 1" x 2 1/2" and 1" x 1" x 3 1/4" long.  The longer blank can easily be used to create a closed end pen.

Arizona Silhouette Inc. is proud to offer an exclusive material in our bottle stopper line - Type 316 solid stainless steel.  Although these stoppers are a little more expensive than the chrome and copper stoppers, people who sell or give away the Type 316 SST stoppers are buying "piece of mind".  Anyone who makes stoppers looses control on how their pieces are used once they leave their shop.  Some people will use a regular chrome or copper stopper they purchased with a liquid material that is corrosive in nature and, with long exposure, may eventually cause the plating to flake or corrode (wine vinegars for example) .  Type 316 SST will stand up to anything that a human may or want to consume.  When you sell one of our SST stoppers you don't have to worry about it coming back to you unless the top material has somehow failed.

Type 316 stainless steel is the best stainless steel for this type of application.  Used for their intended purpose, you do not have to concern yourself about corrosion.  The following information came from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stainless_steel :

"Type 316—the second most common grade (after 304); for food and surgical stainless steel uses; Alloy addition of molybdenum prevents specific forms of corrosion. 316 steel is used in the manufacture and handling of food and pharmaceutical products where it is often required in order to minimize metallic contamination. It is also known as "marine grade" stainless steel due to its increased resistance to chloride corrosion compared to type 304. SS316 is often used for building nuclear reprocessing plants. Most watches that are made of stainless steel are made of Type 316L;....."

The hobbyist also has the option of altering the finish of this stopper.  These stoppers can be glass-beaded for a satin finish, they can be buffed to a higher gloss and they can be jeweled without having to worry about working through any plating since there isn't any plating.

A special note:

If you are selling your stoppers I highly recommend that you use the stainless steel models.  It is a little more expensive than some of the other models but you will never have to worry about a customer returning the stopper to you because of corrosion problems.  Since you have no control on how a stopper is used or what type of substance it will be used with, why take the chance?

Our BHW-469, BHW-470 and BHW-472 stainless steel stoppers are the only stoppers we sell that are guaranteed against any form of corrosion caused by any liquid or solid that can be safely consumed by human beings.  When in doubt use stainless steel.

We can ship 30 of the Deluxe stoppers for $4.75 by Flat Rate Priority Mail,  100 stoppers for $10.20 Flat Rate Priority Mail, or 140 stoppers for $13.95 Flat Rate Priority Mail.  Postal insurance is additional.

BHW-473  Adjustable Stainless Steel & Chrome Bottle Stopper

Pictured with one of Ed Davidson's silver butterfly 3D bottle stopper blocks

We now have an adjustable bottle stopper that will fit numerous bottles as well as having the added benefit of being constructed out of 304 stainless steel and chrome.  The flat washer and screw that are exposed to corrosive elements are made of Type 304 stainless steel.  The gaskets are made from food grade silicone rubber.  This stopper also has our standard 3/8"-16 threads so it is compatible with all of our mandrels, buffing handles, etc.

This stopper is unique in that it adapts itself to the inside neck opening of typical wine bottles.  The various adjustment results in tightening the top piece of the stopper.  In other words, as you tighten the stopper (turning clockwise) the soft silicone gaskets expand thus sealing the bottle.  Turning the stopper top counter-clockwise will reduce the size of the soft silicone gaskets allowing the stopper to be removed from the bottle.

This discount pricing shown below only applies to the BHW-473 stoppers

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
Jesus Christ and the American G.I.
One died for your soul and the other for your freedom.

A friend sent me the following:

What is a Veteran?   A "Veteran" -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of up to and including his or her life.

Freedom Alliance
Supporting the continued education of children whose parents were killed in the line of Duty.

Lt. Colonel Oliver North, Founder and Honorary Chairman

The Mission of Freedom Alliance is to advance the American heritage of freedom by honoring and encouraging military service, defending the sovereignty of the United States and promoting a strong national defense.

Freedom Alliance , a 501(c)3 educational and charitable foundation, was founded in 1990 by Lt.Col Oliver L. North, who now serves as the organization's honorary chairman. We will work to "keep America strong, keep America prosperous, and keep America free," said North upon the founding of Freedom Alliance. And so we have.

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.  He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.  When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side. When he was close enough, he called out, 'Excuse me, where are we?''  This is Heaven, sir,' the man answered.. 'Wow! Would you happen to have some water?' the man asked.  'Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up.'  The man gestured, and the gate began to open.  'Can my friend,' gesturing toward his dog, 'come in, too?' the traveler asked.  'I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets.'

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.
After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence.  As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.  'Excuse me!' he called to the man. 'Do you have any water?'  'Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in.' 'How about my friend here?' the traveler gestured to the dog. 'There should be a bowl by the pump.'  They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.  The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.  'What do you call this place?' the traveler asked.  'This is Heaven,' he answered. 'Well, that's confusing,' the traveler said. 'The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.' 'Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's Hell.'  'Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?' 'No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.'
